Story County Empowerment Funding Opportunities
The Story County Empowerment Board is offering preschool tuition scholarships for the 2010-11 school year. Funds are avialable to serve Story County children from low-income families at or below 200% of poverty during FY11. Applications must be submitted by eligible preschool providers to serve qualifying children. Scholarship funds will be distributed on a first come first serve basis. First priority will be given to 4 and 5 year olds (not enrolled in Kindergarten; age as of 9/15/10); after August 13th, requests to serve 3 year olds will also be considered contingent on funding availability. Story County Decat Funding Opportunities
Story County Decategorization Board intends to provide support for Afterschool Programming during the 2010-2011 school year to serve at-risk Story County youth. Programs currently contracted to receive FY11 afterschool program funds from Story Decat are not eligible. Allocations will be contingent on the availability of funds. The Board anticipates funding up to $20,000 to support increased access to afterschool programs for at-risk Story County children/youth. Priority will be given to programs that demonstrate strong community investment/collaboration in the program and programs that increase the number of at-risk Story County youth served. Applications are due 8/30/10; it is anticipated funding decisions will be made 9/10/09 by the Decat board.
