About Us
The Story County Family website is made possible through funding by Story County
Empowerment. The Story County Family website originated in January 2000 as a Birth
to Five Collaborative project. The Birth to Five Collaborative includes:
The goal of the original project was to provide access to a "one-stop-shop" of information
related to Story County resources and services for families of young children, ages 0 to 5,
and the agencies who serve them.
In May 2001, the Story County Family website expanded the resource directory to include school-age
youth programs as a part of a School-Age Task Force project to provide resources for families with
children, ages 5-18, and children with special needs under the age of 21. Member agencies of the
School-Age Task Force include the following:
